Ruth Jean Riehle passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Ripley Crossing in Milan, Indiana. The daughter of Bernard and Irene Effing was born on December 11, 1943. She was 80 years old.
The Immaculate Conception Academy graduate married Sylvester Riehle in 1963. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She worked at Hill-Rom making curtains until deciding to stay home to take care of her children and family home. Later, she returned to work as she proudly achieved her CNA certification to continue at Margaret Mary Health for many years.
She is survived by her children Laura Ann Taylor (Michael), Tammy Jean Faulkinbury, Scott Allen Riehle, Eric Jon Riehle (Marlene) and Neal Ryan Riehle; nine grandchildren and two great granddaughters; along with her siblings, Susie Huff, Jo Ann Schoetmer, Betsy Lecher, Milly Simmermeyer, James Effing, Diane Wendell and Debbie Nobbe
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Riehle, brother, Robert Effing, and sister, Mary B. Moorman.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 9-11am preceded by an 8:30 am Rosary service at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville.
