Ruth E. Stewart, 93, of Greensburg passed away on June 9, 2024. She was born on March 18, 1931, in Shelby County, the daughter of George and Ora Scudder Larrison. Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Waldron High School. She married Glenn (Jack) Stewart on May 13, 1976. Ruth first worked at Capital Finance. She later worked at the Decatur County Courthouse as a Deputy Auditor (5years) and as a Deputy Recorder (15 years) until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and traveling.
Survivors include: Sons, David Picker and Greg (Melissa) Picker; Stepchildren, Jean Geis, Robert (Virginia) Stewart and Carol Rathburn; Grandchildren, Darren (Jen) Picker and Christina (Josh) Hitcho; and several Step-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; Brother, Floyd Larrison and Sisters, Helen Larrison, Mary Picker and Hazel Copeland.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Terry Canfield will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Rossburg Cemetery.
