GREENSBURG, IN — “See something, say something” comes into play at a local school.
Rumors of a possible threat at North Decatur Jr/Sr High School led to an increased police presence at the school Wednesday.
Students who overheard the comments reported them to school administrators, who then alerted Decatur County Community Schools Resource Officers, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, and Indiana State Police.
In a letter addressed to students, parents, and guardians, North Decatur Principal Debbie Reynolds wrote the stepped-up law enforcement presence was an attempt to be proactive, and that they take all threats seriously.
Reynolds added that all students and staff are safe and that there are no signs of trouble at the school.
