Rising Sun downed South Ripley 6-2 in a varsity baseball game played after a dedication ceremony to celebrate improvements to the Raiders’ home turf at Forest G. Waters Field (pictured).
Shawn Riehle, Mason McNew, and Austin Hodge each went 1-for-3.
McNew and Trevor Castner scored both of Ripley’s runs.
Gabe Stone pitched 3 1/3 innings, gave up six hits, six runs (four earned), three walks and three strikeouts.
Castner came on in relief and tossed 3 2/3 frames. He gave up two hits, no runs or walks, and struck out three Shiners.
