Roy Kenneth Mosmeier, of Sunman, was born on January 24, 1935, a son to Harris and Willa Mae Campbell Mosmeier. He married Barbara Ann Ecklar on January 21, 1956, in College Corner, Indiana, and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage before her death on December 31, 2010. Roy was employed with Hill-Rom as a welder and he also owned B & G Dairy Bar for a short time. He was a member of St. John’s UCC, and the Franklin County Antique Machinery Club. Roy enjoyed playing euchre, riding his quad runner, going to tractor shows, camping, listening to Johnny Cash and most of all, spending time with his family. On Monday, January 13, at the age of 89, he passed away peacefully at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville.
Those surviving who will cherish Roy’s memory include his children, Pamela Ann (Lawrence) Weiler, Debra Sue (Daniel) Hoffman, Kenneth Roy (Lisa) Mosmeier, and Alisa Mae (Tom) Doll; grandchildren, Amber Knueven, Ashlee Theising, Andrea Benefiel, Justin Hoffman, Jessica Engel, Jordan Hoffman, Jonathan Mosmeier, Jeremy Doll and Cody Doll; great grandchildren, Dakotah Knueven, Issabella Knueven, Emile Knueven, Amelia Theising, William Theising, Charles Mayes, Tucker Benefiel, Liam Benefiel, McKenna Benefiel, Jackson Engel, Audrey Engel, Jonah Engel, Emma Engel, Tyson Doll, Abraham Doll, and Willa Hoffman, and great, great grandchildren, Harper and Avery Knueven. Also surviving is Roy’s one sister, Mary Conrad. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and David Mosmeier.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at St. John’s UCC, Penntown. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Due to weather conditions, burial will be private.
