Rotary scholarship applications available

Greensburg, In. —  Southern Indiana Rotary clubs are accepting applications for a $40,000 Rotary District Global Grant Scholarship that will enable a Southern Indiana scholar to study one to four years in a graduate program at any qualified university outside the U.S. To qualify applicants must:

  • Maintain a residence in Southern Indiana or attend classes at a university in the District.
  • Present a plan of graduate study and a career commitment that align with one of Rotary’s six areas of focus: (1) Peace and conflict prevention/resolution, (2) Disease prevention and treatment, (3) Water and sanitation, (4) Maternal and child health, (5) Basic education and literacy, (6) Economic and community development
  • Be endorsed by a Rotary Club in District 6580 (See a list of Southern Indiana Rotary clubs at www.rotary6580.org).
  • Provide a Letter of Acceptance (or a Letter of Affiliation) from the university where the scholar’s study will take place. (Applications may be submitted before an applicant receives an acceptance letter.)

The 2018-19 Rotary Global Grant Scholar is Rutgers University Graduate Aubrey Seader of Bloomington, Indiana.

Aubrey will pursue a master’s degree in Arts and Cultural Management at King’s College London. She plans to use storytelling in theater and in other communication channels to build peace and understanding among people of different cultures.
