Greensburg, In. — At their most recent meeting, Greensburg Rotary Club #3437 of District #6580 (Southern Indiana), inducted two new members under the newly classified Corporate member policy as recently adopted by Rotary International.
Under the Corporate membership policy, any company or organization may choose to nominate a designated person in management to be active in Rotary. The intent is to increase the club’s ability to attract and retain a qualified and diverse professional base within the community. It allows for flexibility and recognizes the tremendous mobility that is the norm within the current corporate environment.
Assisting with the induction ceremony was District #6580 Governor Sue Wright of Jeffersonville, IN. Wright is responsible for the entire southern half of Indiana as Rotary District Governor.
The Greensburg Club is proud to welcome Cheryl Boggs of The Sign Exchange, and Shawn Green of Green Sign Company. Representing Shawn Green at the meeting were employees Kevin Sims and Keri Scudder. The membership was reviewed and approved in accordance with the constitution and bylaws of the Greensburg Rotary Club, which will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2020.
Greensburg Rotary Club President for the year 2018-19 Jeff Emsweller, conducted the ceremony, while helping DG Wright with the pinning ceremony were District #6580 Assistant District Governor Mandy Lohrum and former Assistant District Governor and current Greensburg Club Sergeant-at-Arms chair Steve Freeman.
Greensburg Rotary Club member Kelby Owens of Hardwick Capital Management of Greensburg proposed the membership of Cheryl Boggs, while Rotarian Steve Freeman of Shirk’s International proposed the membership of Green Sign Company.
The Greensburg Rotary Club meets at 12 p.m. on Mondays in Classroom D of Decatur County Memorial Hospital, with the exception of special events or programs that require the club to be off site of its normal meeting location.
