Ronald G. Palmer, 75, of Holton passed away at 11:50am, Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Waters of Batesville. He was born at Brookville on March 7, 1942 the son of Claude and Edith Rayner Palmer. Survivors include his son Brent Palmer of Batesville; two brothers Claude Palmer, Jr. of Osgood and Omer (Virginia) Palmer of Versailles, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Palmer, and his sisters Waunetta Zaenglein, Phyllis Mulford, and Bonnie Palmer. Mr. Palmer was a 1962 graduate of Holton High School and was retired from Cummins Engine in Columbus. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1968 with the 55th Engineering Company as a crane shovel operator and qualified as a rifle marksman. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 2nd at 12pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Steve Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the Dabney Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation will be Friday from 10am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Dabney Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
