Ronald Gene Burns, age 73, of Sunman, passed away Friday October 28, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 7, 1949, in Batesville a son to Roy and Cornie Daniel Burns. On August 5, 1972, Ronald married the love of his life, Gloria Allen at St. Paul Methodist, Sunman. He was an employee for Seagrams for 37 years retiring in 2005. Ronald attended Hope Baptist Church, Dillsboro and was a member of Sons of American Legion, Milan.
Ronald was a hard worker and was always willing to take on any challenge building or repairing anything. He was a handyman willing to help anyone. Ronald always stayed busy working in his yard, woodworking or just tinkering with anything he could. Ronald’s biggest passion and love was his family. He always enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in sports and activities.
Survived to cherish the memories of Ronald is his wife of 50 years Gloria; daughters: Rhonda (Willie) Smith of Milan, Kimberly (Chad) Jewett of Sunman, Kerri (Matt) May of Milan; grandchildren: Kayla, Kaitlyn, Keegan, Issy, Mason, Jake, Ashley; great-granddaughter: Teagan; sister: Verda Day of Milan; brother: Roy (the late Mona) Burns Jr. of Milan and several nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Cornie Burns, brother, David Burns and sister Ruth Ann Lewis.
Memorial service will be held Saturday November 12, 2022, 1:00 pm, with Pastor Tom Holt at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home 107 Vine St. Sunman. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am up to the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery Sunman. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sunman Fire Department or Sunman Rescue 20.
