Ronald Dale Moffett, 88, of Greensburg

Ronald Dale Moffett, 82, of Greensburg, passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 25, 2026. He was born on December 3, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Dale & Jeanette (Maddux) Moffett. He was a 1962 graduate of Sandcreek High School and had been a resident of Greensburg most of his life. Ron retired from Cummins in 1996 and then went to work at Decatur County Memorial Hospital until 2005. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. Ron married Rachel Callahan on June 27, 1965, at Union Flat Rock Baptist Church and she survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Julie (Jim) Faris of Greensburg; sons, Scott Moffett of Westport and Sandy Moffett of Greensburg; grandchildren, Oden Moffett, Mahlon Moffett, Elizabeth Moffett, Emma (Blake) Ponsler, Leona Faris, Chloe Faris and Laney Faris. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Rachel Lynn Moffett, and his brothers, John Moffett, Randy Moffett, Danny Moffett and Dave Moffett. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Dr. Robb Barlow officiating. Burial will follow at Union Flat Rock Cemetery with military rites. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
