Rodney Paul “Hot Rod” Wolters, age 69, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
Born on July 26, 1956, in Greensburg, Indiana, Hot Rod was the son of Harry and Mary V. (née Farley) Wolters. He attended Batesville High School and went on to build a long career first as a truck driver and later as a dedicated car salesman at Don Meyer Ford for more than 20 years. While working for the Don Meyer Family dealership, it never felt like work to him—he had a passion for cars and cruising that made every day enjoyable. To Hot Rod, it was simply what he loved.
He is survived by his son, Brad (Amy) Wolters; daughter, Brandy (Jason) Westrick; grandchildren, Isabelle (Jacob) Deutsch, Ella Wolters, Emma Westrick, Kennedy Westrick, Addison Westrick, and Molly Westrick; brothers, Bob Wolters, Harry Wolters, and George Wolters; his former wife of many years, Mary Wolters; and his good friends Jerry and Joyce Mayhugh.
Hot Rod was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jim Ward and John Ward.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Batesville on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to share stories and raise a drink in honor of Hot Rod.
