Robert Lee Calhoun, 76, Sunman

Robert Lee Calhoun, age 76, of Sunman, Indiana died Thursday, February 1, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg following a lengthy illness.

Born July 3, 1947 in Dearborn, Michigan he was the son of the late Samuel & Lorraine (Taylor) Calhoun. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. On August 16, 1969 he was united in marriage to the former Deborah K. Stamper, and she survives.

Bob was retired, having worked for many years at General Motors Corporation. In his leisure time he enjoyed his automobiles, woodworking, riding his motorcycle, gardening and hunting.

He was a member of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge Lodge #98 F. & A.M., the Order of Eastern Star, as well as the American Legion.
Besides Deborah, his loving wife of over 54 years; survivors include four children, Jeanie Meisberger of Montrose, Colorado, Joe Calhoun, Joyce Stockhoff, and Jeff Calhoun all of Brookville, Indiana; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; ten siblings, Sue Obermeyer of Sunman, Indiana, Jeanette Calhoun of Batesville, Indiana, Renee Smith of Connersville, Indiana, Janice Hounz of Sunman, Indiana, Zelda Force of Brookville, Indiana, Johnny Calhoun of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Gene Calhoun of Sunman, Indiana, Tim Calhoun of Milan, Indiana, Ed Calhoun of Osgood, Indiana, Homer Calhoun of Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Sloan, as well as two brothers, David Calhoun and Samuel Calhoun.

Family & friends may visit from 4 until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Masonic Memorial Services by the Fairfield Masonic Lodge #98 will begin at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Funeral Home with the Funeral Service immediately following by Rev. Mike Holman of the First Baptist Church of Brookville.

Full military honors will then be conducted immediately following the services by the Bernard Hurst Post # 77 of the American Legion Firing Squad.
