Robert L. Arnett, 61, Sandusky

Robert Louis Arnett, 61, of Sandusky, passed away at his home on January 9, 2025. He was born on January 22, 1963, in Greensburg, Indiana, to Bob and Janis Arnett, both of whom preceded him in death.

A proud 1982 graduate of North Decatur High School, Robert went on to work for 24 years as a Top Mill Tech at Valeo, where his unmatched skills with machines were widely admired. There was no machine he couldn’t operate, assemble, or repair, showcasing his dedication and technical expertise. Outside of work, Robert was deeply devoted to his family, who were always the center of his world. Robert was a kind-hearted and generous soul, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a talent for working with his hands and enjoyed creating beautiful furniture pieces, a passion that brought him much joy.

He was married to the love of his life, Johnna R. Gilpin, on August 19, 2000, and she survives him. Robert was a beloved father to his son, Billy (Tess) Hobbs, and a proud grandfather to his two granddaughters, Ellie Marie Hobbs and Piper Evelyn Hobbs. He is also survived by his siblings: Katie (Gary) Moore, Kevin (Angela) Arnett, Bobby (Michele) Arnett, and Kim Yeary, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In accordance with Robert’s wishes, he will be cremated after the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg Bread of Life.

Robert will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his warm and compassionate nature, and his remarkable ability to fix anything he set his hands on. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
