
Robert Glenn Cunningham, age 94, Indianapolis, IN, left his earthly home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2026.
He was the son of Autra (Ford) and Orville H Cunningham who preceded him in death. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jane Ellen (Fisher) Cunningham, three daughters, Kathleen Scherer (Pat) of Brownsburg, IN, Andrea Robledo {Baruch) of Brighton, CO, and Julie Cook of Clearfield, UT. One daughter Valerie Jean preceded him in death. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons, a sister, Linda Sayre (late Tom) of Centerville, OH. and brother James Cunningham of
Brandon, FL. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Bill Cunningham (Dorothy), Vincennes, IN, two sisters, Betty Land (Jack) Evansville, IN., and Patty Salter (Morris) Terre Haute, IN.
He was a member of the Vincennes Lincoln High School Class of 1950.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force for four years of which three was in Germany as a Radar Operator controlling aircraft through East Germany during the cold war. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was appointed First Sergeant of an advanced radar unit in Landsburg and Ramstein, Germany. After being discharged from the Air Force in January 1954, he was employed by the Public Service Company of Indiana. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering during that time. In August 1973, he was transferred to
serve as office manager for PSI’s offices in Brookville and Liberty, Indiana. He retired in February 1988 at age 55. After retiring, he held several part-time positions with Technical Testing Services, Inc. in Noblesville, Indiana; Brookville IGA; Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville, Indiana; National Car Rental in Pensacola, Florida; and ADESA Car Auction in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Bob was a member of several fraternal and civic clubs during his career. Including American Legion Post 73, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 40 Et 8, Vincennes Lodge F&A.M.#1, Optimist Club in Vincennes, Scottish Rite-Indianapolis, Kiwanis Club in Brookville where he served as past President, Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Brookville Park Board. He was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church where he served in many offices including as a Certified Lay Speaker. Presently, he was a member of Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg, IN.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Burial will take place at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana. There will be no
formal service or visitation.
