Robert D. “Bob” Montgomery, of Brookville, was born on February 14, 1934 in Fort Wayne, IN, a son to Virgil and Bernice Gordon Montgomery. Bob worked at Sperry and Rice as a Lab Technician for over 40 years. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting lady spittoons and Matchbox cars. Bob was a devoted Christian and he was also a mason at the Harmony Lodge in Brookville. On Friday, October 18, 2019, at the age of 85, Bob passed away peacefully at The Knolls of Oxford in Oxford, OH.
Those surviving who will cherish Bob’s memory include three children; Tami (Lyle) Rosenberger of Brookville, Angie (Roger) Schwarb of Cleves, OH, and Jeff (Marcia) Montgomery of CA; eight grandchildren, Vikki, Megan (Rob), Rusty (Mary Rose), Josh (Dawn), Seth (friend Emily), Adam (Beth), Pamela (Matt), and Scott (Wendy); eleven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sean, Camille, Claire, Roger, Peter, Jack, Anna, Myla, Kyra, and Joseph. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Sally, his son Scott; and one sister, Janet Kennedy.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon at Brookville United Methodist Church, 150 E 8th Street, Brookville. Burial will follow immediately in Big Cedar Cemetery.
