Road construction continues around Batesville

Batesville, IN — INDOT contractor Paul H. Rohe Company continues curb and gutter work on State Road 229 south of State Road 46 in Batesville.

Motorists can expect delays on 229, Boehringer, and Main streets.

The work will continue south to Main Street and onto Central Avenue.

A portion of the work will be under flagging.

Detours are set up around the Walnut Street/State Road 229 work zone and into downtown.

Construction has also started on several other roads in Batesville as part of the state’s Community Crossing Grant.

The project is divided into nine project areas, and consists of curb and gutters with some ADA improvements, milling, paving, and some overlay with patching.

Milling began Monday on Winding Way from Pine Oak to State Road 46, Volz Street and Mulberry Street (about 655 feet off Mulberry), and Mulberry from Volz to Central Avenue, with paving to
follow.

Work will be done under flagging and drivers can expect some brief closures.

INDOT and the City of Batesville remind drivers to slow down, use caution and keep an eye out for workers and equipment in active construction zones.

All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
