Area under flood watches through Wednesday

SOUTHEASTERN IN — A Flood Watch has been issued for Ripley and Dearborn counties until 6 am Wednesday, and Decatur County is under a Flood Watch until Wednesday at 8 pm.

The National Weather Service says flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

Forecasters say multiple rounds of rainfall will move through the area and allow for the potential for flooding concerns, especially along rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying or flood-prone areas.

Motorists are urged to avoid low-lying areas and be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses.
