Versailles, In. — Following an October arrest for attempted possession of child pornography, Ripley County resident Rondell Gene Goe, 77, has entered a guilty plea in circuit court. A date for sentencing has not been determined.
Investigators from the Indiana State Police Cyber Crimes unit were able to recover multiple images and internet searches for child pornography. Goe told police he was conducting the searches as part of “research” from a previous work assignment, a claim that was quickly found to be untrue.
Ripley County prosecutor Ric Hertel praised the efforts of deputy prosecutor Ryan Marshal and the work of the Indiana State Police Cyber Crimes unit.
Goe faces additional charges in a child molesting case.
