Ripley County Chamber hosting total eclipse Lunch & Learn this month

(Versailles, IN) – The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce will host a Lunch & Learn centered around the April 8 Total Eclipse this month.

It will take place on January 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Versailles Town Hall.

Chamber executive director Brandi Merkel says the purpose of the event is to inform members and the public about what to expect the weekend leading to and during the day of the eclipse.

“We are anticipating a large influx of visitors to our area, given the fact that we in the path of totality,” Merkel said.

The featured speakers will be Charlie Pride, Jr., Instructor of Accounting at Ivy Tech Community College, and Donna Zeh, Department Chair and Associate Professor of Business at Ivy Tech.

Discussions will take place on market research and planning; staffing and training; inventory management; logistical planning, and business infrastructure readiness.

“We will have local officials (government and public safety) there, as well, to discuss some of the plans we have in place for the county. At the end of that Ivy Tech session, we will open the floor up to questions from the public,” Merkel added.

The cost is $10 for chamber members and $15 for non- or prospective members, as well as the public.

The registration deadline is Monday, January 15.
