Ride to Remember registration open, itinerary released

Batesville, In. — The “9th Annual Ride to Remember” will be held June 8 and 9 in honor of several fallen soldiers with local connections.

“Ride to Remember” T-shirts are available now and on the day of the event. All proceeds benefit the families.

The two-day event is more than 300- miles with LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) support where available. Participants can the entire trip, or portions.

Stage Location: Liberty Park located at 716 S. Park Ave. Batesville, IN 47006

Stage Time: 7:00 – 7:15 with a ride briefing at 7:15

SGT Chad L. Keith will be Honored from 8:00 to 8:30. KSU at 8:30. Location: Liberty Park, 716 S. Park Ave., Batesville, IN 47006. (Sgt. Keith is buried at Arlington National Cemetery)

PFC Anthony P. Seig will be Honored from 9:00 to 9:30. KSU at 9:30. Location: Memorial Site 24017 Weisburg Road, Sunman, IN 47041.

We will make a brief stop for gas, restroom, and refreshments at the Road Dog in Aurora at 10:00. KSU up at 10:20. The address is: 606 Green Blvd, Aurora, IN 47001.

SPC Zachary S. Salmon will be Honored from 10:45 – 11:15. KSU at 11:30. Location: Riverview Cemetery, 3635 E. Laughery Creek Rd., Aurora, IN 47001.

SGT Kenneth R. Booker will be Honored from 12:00 – 12:30. KSU at 12:30. Location: Slawson Cemetery, Bennington Pike, Bennington, IN 47011.

We will break for lunch at Ponderosa’s located at 327 Clifty Drive Madison, IN 47250 from 1:00 – 2:30. KSU at 2:30.

SPC Jonathan D. Menke, will be Honored from 2:45 – 3:15. KSU at 3:15. Location: Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 MSH North Gate Rd. Madison, IN 47250.

SSGT Robert J. Montgomery will be Honored from 4:00 – 4:30. Location: Scottsburg Cemetery, 499* S. Railroad St., Scottsburg, IN 47170.

Marine CPL Jordan L. Spears will be Honored from 5:00 – 5:30. Location: Sellersburg American Legion Post #204 412 N. New Albany Ave, Sellersburg, IN 47172.

This will conclude the activities for Saturday, as we will continue South to the Best Western Green Tree Inn for the evening.

A block of 25 non-smoking, double queen rooms have been reserved for the Indiana Patriot Guard that evening at a rate of $91.79 plus tax. There is a $10 per person surcharge for more than 2 people per room. Reservations need to be made by May 31st. For more information call 602-509-7144.

Army SGT James D. Faulkner will be Honored from 9:00 – 9:30. KSU at 9:30. Location: Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2778 Charlestown Rd., New Albany, IN 47150.

We will stop briefly at the Marathon Station in Greenville prior to Bartlesville for a restroom break and gas. The address is: 9255 U.S. 150, Greenville, IN 47124.

Brownstown will be our lunch stop for Sunday from approximately 12:30 – 2:00. Lunch will consist of a pizza buffet provided by Blondies Pizzeria & Pub for $10 per person. The address is:  100 S Main St, Brownstown, IN 47220

Marine LCPL Hunter “HD” Hogan will be Honored from 2:00 – 3:15. KSU at 3:15. Location: Veteran’s Memorial at Jackson County Court House, 111 South Main, Brownstown, IN 47220.

Marine LCPL Jacky R. Koenig will be Honored from 4:00 – 4:30. KSU at 4:30. Location: Vernon Cemetery, 315 S. Pike St. Vernon, IN 47265.

The final stop will honor Marine CPL John C. Bishop will be Honored from 5:00 – 5:30. At the Cliff Hill Cemetery, 210 North Monroe St. Versailles, IN 47042.

The purpose of the event is to Honor all Veterans, past, present, and future, but ultimately we Honor those men and women who have given the Ultimate Sacrifice from the most recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. All Gold Star families are invited to all events.
