Richard “Easy” Pickens, age 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday October 29, 2018. He was born on August 18, 1934 the son of the late Bruce Pickens and Marquerite (Risk) Pickens Winters in Orange County Indiana. He moved to Osgood and grew up being raised by step father Clifford and Marquerite Winters. He graduated from Osgood High School and enjoyed representing the Osgood Cowboys on the basketball floor.
“Easy” worked in the manufacturing field for years around Cincinnati and Osgood. In 1992 he moved to Indianapolis and worked with his brother Donald. The two of them managed several different properties around Indianapolis before retiring last fall.
He is survived by significant other Fran Fischer, brothers; Donald Pickens of Indianapolis and Larry (Carol) Winters of Osgood, son Mark Pickens, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Kevin and daughter Lori, and brothers Henry and Gene Winters.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 2, 2018 from 12-2 pm., with Funeral services being held at 2:00 pm. all at Neals Funeral Home in Osgood. Burial will follow at Cliff Hill cemetery in Versailles. Memorials can be given to Osgood Museum in care of the funeral home.
