Richard C. “Rick” Strzynski, 73, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
He was born January 19, 1948, in Saginaw, MI, son of the late Richard J. Strzynski and Dorothy (Gasorowski) Strzynski.
Rick worked as a CPA. He was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Aurora Lions Club, where he served as Treasurer from1981-1985, and President in 1985. He was a past Fair Board President for 5 years, was a Progressive/UCB Board of Directors 1993-2017, was on the Hillforest Board of Directors for 10 years, retiring in 2017 and served as past President and treasurer.
He recieved his Batchelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 1970. He then went on to earn a Master of Arts, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University. Rick became a partner of the accounting firm, Klum, Sutton, and Strzynski in 1978. In 1981 the firm became Sutton and Strzynski, followed by Sutton, Strzynski, and York in 1983. Then in 1996 the firm was Strzynski and York until it became Strzynski and Leisure in 2007. Rick retired in 2012.
Rick is survived by his sons, Jeremy Strzynski of Aurora, IN, Matthew Strzynski of Carmel, IN, Adam (Kristen) Strzynski of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Violet, Shaun, Casimir, Jackson, Cyndi, Alexandra, Quentin and Veronica Strzynski; siblings, Lynn and Paula.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy; his loving wife, Cynthia Strzynski.
Friends will be received Monday, December 20, 2021, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Father Nicholas Dant officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
