Rev. David M. Patterson

Rev. David M. Patterson, 84, of Aurora, IN, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Lawrenceburg, IN.

He was born Thursday, December 29, 1932 in Vincennes, Indiana, son of the late Robert W. Patterson and the late Katherine Dutton Patterson. He served his Country as a member of the Indiana National Guard.

Rev. Patterson was a graduate of Hanover College and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He faithfully served the Lord as a pastor for many years. He was a pastor at the Beecher Presbyterian Church for 8 years, Sullivan First Presbyterian Church for 11 years and the Aurora First Presbyterian Church for 20 years. He was a member of the Aurora Lions Club and a Rotary member, serving as former president of 3 clubs, Ellsworth, KS., Aurora, IN and Sullivan, IN. Rev. Patterson was also on the Community Mental Health Center Board of Directors for 29 years; the Dearborn and Ohio Counties Salvation Army Board of Directors; a Greater Cincinnati Airport Ambassador Volunteer for 10 years and also the Sons of the American Revolution; the George Rogers Clark Chapter. Rev. Patterson is an icon in the community. His mark has been left on many lives within his family, friends, and church families. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are children, Douglas M. (Julie) Patterson of Aurora, IN, Mary Ann Patterson of Lawrenceburg, IN; Brother, John J. Patterson of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, Brett M Jackson, Nicholas L Jackson and Michelle Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jean Patterson.

Friends will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, April 17, 2017, at the Beecher Presbyterian Church, 229 Short Street, Lawrenceburg, IN.

Services will be held at Beecher Presbyterian Church,Tuesday at 11:00 with Pastor Bob Northcutt officiating.

Interment will be in the Upper Indiana Cemetery, Vincennes, IN.
