(Washington, D.C.) – Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-IN-09) has announced nominations for the United States Service Academies.

After reviewing applications and conducting interviews, Congresswoman Houchin nominated 18 young men and women from across the Ninth District.

“It’s my honor to nominate this impressive group of students to serve in our U.S. Service Academies. These young men and women from Bedford to Rising Sun have demonstrated tremendous potential and would make great additions to the U.S. Air Force, Military, Merchant Marine, and Naval Academies. Indiana’s Ninth District is lucky to have them!” Houchin said.

Locally, Emma Martin of West Harrison was nominated to the Air Force, West Point, Merchant Marine and Naval academies, and Logan Schott of Sunman was nominated to the merchant marine and naval academies.

While a nomination does not guarantee admission, nominations are required to be eligible for entrance into a service academy. Students with questions about the academy nomination process can contact [email protected] or call (812) 288-3999.
