After losing to the Pittsburgh Pirates on opening day, the Cincinnati Reds rebounded, winning the final two games of the 3-game set with their division rival.
On Saturday, the Reds won 6-2 thanks to home runs from Kevin Newman, Jonathan India, Jake Fraley, that accounted for all 6 of their runs.
Nick Lodolo earned the win on the mound striking out nine and walking two in 5 innings of work while giving up just two earned runs.
In Sunday’s game, Graham Ashcraft earned the win in an excellent outing, striking out six, walking one batter while giving up just one earned run in 7 innings to help give the Reds the 3-1 win.
Jason Vosler and TJ Friedl both homered in the win.
The Reds are now 2-1 on the season
They begin a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs on Monday.
