Reds lose first two in LA

The Reds seven-game road trip started off on a sour note Thursday in Los Angeles.  Cincy lost 9-3 to the Dodgers.

Down 3-0 after the first inning, the Redlegs drew even in the seventh, but the bullpen had another rough outing giving up six runs in the eighth.

Aristides Aquino hit a two-run homer in the sixth and Brandon Drury smacked a solo shot in the seventh.  Jonathan India had two hits but left the game in the fifth with tightness in his right hamstring.  He’s expected to only miss a few games at most.

The Reds bats were quiet Friday during a 3-1 loss to the Dodgers. Cincinnati’s losing streak is now at four.

Of the Redlegs five hits, Kyle Farmer singled, doubled and drove home the team’s only run in the sixth.

Starting pitcher Vladimir Guiterrez gave up three earned runs on five hits and three walks over four innings. On a bright note, the bullpen delivered four shutout innings.

The Reds and Dodgers will put on the cleats again tonight (Saturday) with another late start. Listen to the game on 103.9 WRBI starting at 9:40 pm.
