Reds get two-game sweep of Guardians

The Reds completed the short-series sweep of Cleveland beating the Guardians 4-2 up on the lake Thursday.

Cincy’s Tyler Naquin singled and homered against his former club with one RBI.  Colin Moran also had two hits.

Starting pitcher Tyler Mahle had a solid outing but left with a no decision.  He threw 6-1/3 innings with four strike outs against two walks, two hits and a run.  Luis Cessa got the win and Tony Santillan picked up the save.

Back on Tuesday, it wasn’t pretty, but the Reds beat the Guardians 5-4 in 10 innings.

Kyle Farmer had three hits, Tyler Stephenson had two and Naquin hit a solo homer.  All three players batted in a run.

Cincy pitching gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth to force extra play. In the top of the 10th, the Redlegs Mike Moustakas drew a bases loaded walk to force in the go-ahead run.  Alexis Diaz pitched out of a jam in the home 10th to record his first career save.
