Reds four-game win streak stopped by Giants Sunday

The Cincinnati Reds four-game winning streak was snapped Sunday at GABP in a 6-4 loss to the Giants.

Tyler Mahle pitched nearly seven innings of shutout baseball for the Reds with eight strikeouts.  But San Fran scored six runs with two outs in the eighth off Redleg relievers.

Albert Almora homered and Kyle Farmer had two hits for Cincy.

The series with the Giants opened Friday and saw the Reds win 5-1.

Tyler Stephenson and Amora both had two hits and an RBI.  Brandon Drury hit a solo home run and pitcher Graham Ashcraft had a nice outing for the win going 6-1/3 innings of four-hit, no-run baseball.

Saturday’s game came to an end on a tremendous defensive play by Aristides Aquino.  The right fielder gunned down Joey Bart for the final out in the ninth, preserving the 3-2 victory.

Farmer had three hits and drove in three runs.  His trio of hits included a first inning solo home run.
