Reds comeback from 3 runs down to beat Mariners 7-6

The Cincinnati Reds (73-68) won on Tuesday night, storming back from 3 runs down to beat the top team in the AL West, Seattle (77-61), 7-6.

Seattle would take a 6-3 lead in the top of the 7th on a Julio Rodriguez solo home run to give them a 6-3 advantage over the Reds.

An inning and a half later, Cincinnati tied it up on 3-run pinch-hit home run by Nick Martini.

The Reds completed the comeback in the bottom of the 9th when Christian Encarnacion-Strand knocked in Elly De La Cruz on a single to right, giving Cincinnati the walk-off 7-6 win.

Noelvi Marte went a perfect 3-3 with a home run and an RBI. Encarnacion-Strand finished the game 3-5 with a home run and 2 RBI.

Cincinnati still holds a 0.5-game lead over the Marlins (71-67) for the 3rd and final Wild Card spot in the National League.

The Reds will try to complete a series sweep of the Mariners in the series finale this evening. Coverage on 103.9 WRBI begins at 6:10.
