The closest Toronto got to scoring in the game was in the bottom of the 3rd when Brandon Belt advanced to third after Cavan Biggio grounded into a fielder’s choice. The Blue Jays would fail to capitalize on the opportunity as Matt Chapman would fly out to end the inning.
Starting the game on the mound for Cincinnati was Brett Kennedy. The right-hander pitched 5 innings, allowing just 3 hits.
