Raiders And Chargers Split Middle School Hoops Games

basketballGrade 7-ND 32 SR 28. 
The host Chargers defeated the Raiders 32-28 on Saturday, November 12. A Logan Betz steal and layup at the end of the first quarter gave South Ripley a 6-4 lead. Zach Gentile nailed a three pointer at the buzzer to put the visitors up 14-12 at the half. However, the Chargers turned the game in the third quarter, out-scoring the Raiders 13-4 for a 25-16 lead. The Raiders were able to cut the lead to one at 27-26 late in the fourth, but North was able to hold on for the win. Gentile lead SR with nine points, with Bryce Wrightsman adding 6, Nick Schwarte had 5, Dalton Smith 4, and Betz and Ryan Miller 2 each.

Grade 8-SR 49 ND 24. 
The Raiders were aggressive early, jumping to a 15-8 first quarter lead, held the Chargers scoreless in the second, then cruised to a 49-24 win. Lane Sparks led all scorers with 21 points, while Cody Samples added 16, Bryce Franklin scored 7, Brady Linkel 3, and Simon Westmeyer 2. 

The seventh graders evened their record at 2-2, while the eighth graders improved to 3-1. Both teams play Batesville on Monday at South Ripley, 6:00 tip.
