The South Ripley 5th Grade Boys Basketball team picked up a pair of wins in week two of the Dirt Road Basketball League season this past Sunday night.
The Raiders held Milan scoreless in the first half and cruised to a 40-4 win over the Indians in game one on Sunday. Eli Gilpin led South Ripley with 16 points while Landon Werner and Levi Hunt each added six points. SR had 23 steals in the contest and eight players scored in the game.
Game two saw South Ripley trail 12-9 at halftime but charge back in the second half, outscoring East Central 20-1 in the second half for a 29-13 win over the Trojans. Gilpin again led the way, this time with 13 points, six rebounds, and six steals. Gabe Stone added six points as did Werner. The Raiders committed just five turnovers and had 21 rebounds and 11 assists in the game.
South Ripley’s record now stands at 3-1. They play Batesville and Rising Sun this upcoming Sunday at Milan Middle School.
