(Metamora, IN) – A home check on probationers in Franklin County has landed a Metamora man in lockup on a felony drug charge.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says it received a request Friday morning from the county Probation Department to conduct the checks, and Deputy Brad Lecher located 39-year-old Michael R. Davidson as he arrived at his home on the 17,000 block of U.S. 52.

When the Deputy Lecher and probation officers tried to make contact with Davidson, he allegedly left his vehicle and tried to flee on foot.

Davidson was arrested following a brief chase that involved other sheriff’s deputies and Brookville police officers.

Investigators say they found what is believed to be methamphetamine on Davidson during a search following his arrest.

He’s lodged in the Franklin County Security Center on felony drug possession and misdemeanor resisting arrest charges.
