Power wins IndyCar Grand Prix Pole

SPEEDWAY, Ind. — IndyCar driver Will Power walks away with the pole position for tomorrow’s IndyCar Grand Prix. Power’s 1:07.7044 lap time set a new track record. This is the Team Penske driver’s 3rd P1 qualifying start in 2017. So far this season, all P1 positions have been claimed by Team Penske.  Those not claimed by Power have gone to teammate, Helio Castroneves, who qualified P2 today.

The Fast Six lineup is rounded out by Josef Newgarden (Penske), Scott Dixon (Ganassi), Juan Pablo Montoya (Penske), and Sebastien Bourdais (Coyne).

The green flag for the IndyCar Grand Prix falls tomorrow, Saturday, May 13th, at 3:50 p.m. If you plan on making your way out to The Track for the race, gates open at 7:30 a.m., then at 12:35 p.m. you can catch Sam Schmidt (former IndyCar driver paralyzed in a 2000 crash) race IndyCar Legend, Mario Andretti, in Semi-Autonomous Cars.
