Polly Anne Newmann, 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. She was resident at Ridgewood Health Campus, Lawrenceburg, IN. She was born on May 25, 1930, to the late Glenn and Edythe (Mockbee) Ruble.
Polly is survived by her three children, Bonnie (Stephen) Mendell, John (Cathy) Newmann, and Judy (Doug) Cox; six grandchildren, Liza Parrott, Kelly (Pat) Marcum, Matthew (Lindsay) Newmann, Mark (Hollye) Newmann, Erin (Mike) Moreland, and Emily (Steve) Rose; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Edythe Ruble, and her husband, Harold L. Newmann.
Polly was a past member of several organizations, including the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the South Dearborn School Board, the Southeastern Art Guild, the Dearborn Highland Arts Council, the Cincinnati Women’s Art Club and Phi Beta Psi Sorority. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church and St. John Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
Polly was deeply loved by her family and had a passion for gardening, reading, music, and was very social. She was an accomplished artist. She had many friends in the art community.
Polly was very blessed with many wonderful caregivers during her residency at Ridgewood.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at St. John Lutheran Church, Aurora, 220 Mechanic St. Services will take place on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Hesse officiating.
Interment will follow at River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN. Contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
