Plans underway for 2022 Decatur County Fair Parade

GREENSBURG, IN — The 2022 Decatur County Fair Parade will step off on Sunday, July 10 at 5 pm.

The parade Grand Marshall will be local native and retired Major League pitcher, coach, and instructor Dyar Miller.

This year’s theme is “Celebrating Indiana’s Automotive Excellence.”

The Decatur County Fair Committee says members of Sweet-N-Low Customs will participate in the parade. Organizers are calling for anyone with a classic, muscle, hotrod, or any car to sign up for this year’s parade.

Lineup begins at 3 pm near the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office on South Ireland Street, with judging to take place at 4:30 pm.

The winner of each category will receive a special announcement as they pass the reviewing stand.

The judging categories are:
1. Parade Spirit Award
2. Business Award
3. Energetic Award
4. Best Car in Show

Prizes will be awarded at the Decatur County Fairgrounds after the parade, which will leave from Ireland Street at 5 pm, and proceed down Ireland to Park Road to the Grandstand at the fairgrounds.

Parade registration is free and is open now until July 1.

Once registration is closed, a parade line up and additional information will be sent to those who are registered.

Information needed to register an entry includes:

  • Name of Organization
  • Contact Person
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Entry Description, i.e. float, vehicle, walkers
  • Number of walkers (if applicable)
  • Are you a church?
  • For-profit?
  • Non-profit?
  • Additional comments you would like announced as you drive by the reviewing stand.
