Pitching wins the day in Batesville varsity baseball’s 1-0 loss to South Dearborn.

Both teams were strong on the hill on Monday, but South Dearborn varsity baseballl was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a 1-0 victory over Batesville on Monday.

Chris Huff scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Chris Lewis and Jack Grunkemeyer were the only two batters that managed to get hits for the Bulldogs.

Logan Thies was on the mound for the Knights. The fireballer surrendered zero runs on two hits over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one.

Jaisle toed the rubber for Batesville. Jaisle lasted five innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out ten. Charlie Schebler threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
