UPDATE: Police say Jason Boone, 34, was struck by two different vehicles Thursday night.
The first driver told police Boone was standing in the lane of travel when he was hit, but the driver didn’t realize they hit a person until they stopped and checked.
The second driver hit Boone who was still laying in the roadway.
Police say they had previously been dispatched to the area regarding a suspicious person, and they saw Boone standing on the sidewalk.
Police do not believe charges will be filed.
AURORA, Ind. — One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Aurora.
Police say the pedestrian was hit Thursday evening while walking along Sunnyside Avenue.
The coroner was called to the scene shortly after 10:30. According to police, the driver stayed on scene to talk to investigators.
The name has not been released as the investigation continues.
