Pearl Whittamore

Pearl Whittamore, of Brookville, was born on June 30, 1930 in Manchester, Kentucky, the son of Virgil and Laura Lunsford Whittamore.  He worked at Campbell Hausfeld in Harrison, Ohio for 36 and a half years, but his love was music.  Pearl played the bass guitar – primarily bluegrass and gospel music.  He also enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre.  On Friday, December 1, 2017, at the age of 87, Pearl passed away at his residence.

 

Those surviving who will cherish Pearl’s memory include his daughter, Sharon (Don) Smith of Brookville; son, Thomas (Verne) Whittamore of Brookville; 6 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren, 1 great, great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Nellie Ratliff of Corona de Tucson, AZ, and Lillie (Marty) Brady of Overton, NV; 2 brothers, Chester (Joyce) Whittamore of Brookville, and Harold (Patty) Whittamore of Oxford, OH.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Granville Whittamore; a sister, Mary Whittamore, and two brothers, Elmer and Earl Whittamore.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Kevin Waltz, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, will officiate the service at the funeral home and burial will follow in Sims Cemetery.
