Passenger airlifted after driver strikes utility pole

Brookville, IN — On Wednesday, Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a personal injury accident on Johnson Fork Road. Upon arrival, Deputies found a 2003 Buick LeSabre in a field along the east side of the roadway and a broken utility pole lying in the roadway.

Through the course of the investigation, Deputies determined that Tonya R. Money, 49 of Cedar Grove, was traveling southbound on Johnson Fork Road, when her vehicle veered off of the east side of the roadway, striking a utility pole, causing the vehicle to roll over. The vehicle came to rest upright in a field.

Rita Henson, 71 of Cedar Grove, who was a backseat passenger, was flown by Air Care medical helicopter to University Hospital in Cincinnati, for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. Front seat passenger Cecil Henson, 77 of Cedar Grove, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.
