Pair charged in series of vehicle break-ins

Franklin County, IN — A Columbus couple has been charged for their alleged roles in a series of vehicle break-ins in Franklin County.

33-year-old Dustin Hurley and 31-year-old Amanda Zeigler are facing 37 counts in connection with the vehicle break-ins, which occurred over several weeks.

The charges include Level 6 Felony Theft and Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft.

Both Hurley and Zeigler are being held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on unrelated charges.

The 37 counts are for the pair’s alleged involvement in the Franklin County break-ins.

They may face other charges in other counties.

If convicted of a Level 6 Felony, the penalty is a maximum of three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines for each separate incident.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables from inside.
