(Greensburg, IN) – An estimated – and record – 115 people gathered on the Moscow Road Bridge on Saturday afternoon to wave American flags in celebration of the country’s 250th birthday.

The group known as the Overpass Patriots gather on patriotic holidays such as Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day and others to wave Old Glory, rain or shine.

Greensburg resident and current Board of Works member Robin Meyer started waving the flag on the overpass by himself several years ago before others started joining in, thanks – he says – to his daughter, Sydney.

Neither of them were able to attend Saturday’s event, but they were there in spirit and in photos.

The 115 people who participated soars past the old record of 109 set on July 4, 2022.
