Osgood man killed in early Sunday morning Ripley County crash

RIPLEY COUNTY, IN — A 19-year-old Osgood man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in rural Ripley County.

Indiana State Police say the initial investigation by troopers with the Versailles Post Crash Reconstruction Team indicated that a Black 2016 Dodge truck driven by Landon Turner was northbound on Michigan Road near County Road 525 North around 1 am when Turner’s vehicle went off the side the road before striking a guardrail and an embankment.

The truck overturned and Turner was ejected.

The vehicle came to rest and then caught fire.

Turner suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

ISP says the investigation indicated that speed was likely a factor in the crash.

Toxicology results are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, the Holton Police Department, Ripley County EMS, the Osgood Fire Department, the Ripley County Coroner’s Office, and Todd’s Wrecker Service.
