RIPLEY COUNTY, IN — An Osgood man was airlifted to the hospital he crashed his motorcycle at the intersection of US 421 and Hasmer Hill Road shortly before 8 pm Sunday.
Ripley County Sheriff Jeff Cumberworth says 64-year-old Michael Fitzgerald was making a left turn from 421 onto Hasmer Hill Road when, for unknown reasons, the bike ran off the road, struck a sign, and went into a ditch.
A passerby found Fitzgerald in the ditch with the motorcycle on top of him.
Fitzgerald was taken by Air Methods helicopter to the University Of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Sheriff Cumberworth was assisted at the scene by Ripley County EMS, the Osgood Fire Department, and Holton Police.
