Organizations honored at Franklin County Chamber dinner

Brookville, In. — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce recently recognized four local organizations for their contributions to the community at the Annual Dinner celebration.

Main Street Brookville and the Town of Brookville received the “Beautification Award” for their efforts during the downtown revitalization project.

The “Corporate Citizen of the Year” award went to North Vernon-based Dave O’Mara Contracting. Workers from the company, led by superintendent Scotty Works completed the downtown construction work. Residents applauded Works and his crews for doing everything in their power to accommodate the needs of residents and business owners along the project.

The “Small Business/Organization of the Year” went to Safe Passage, Inc. Safe Passage provides services to domestic violence victims in a 16 county area. The organization was recognized for leveraging grant money and donations to renovate their historic facility and establish a Rape Crisis Center.
