(Statehouse) – A pair of one-stop shop flood relief centers will open in Senate District 42 this week to help residents gain access to resources as they recover from the August floods, according to State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg).
The Franklin County one-stop shop will be open at the Metamora Church of God from September 16-18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
The Fayette County one-stop shop will be at the Connersville Baptist Temple on September 17 and 18 and open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, September 19, open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
One-stop shops bring members of various federal and state agencies together to answer questions and provide information about the resources available to those impacted by the recent flooding, including applying for individual assistance from FEMA and help finding temporary housing.
“By visiting these local one-stop shops, residents will be able to see everything that is available to help them in the recovery process and receive support applying for FEMA’s individual assistance program,” Leising said. “Connecting residents with these resources is critical for recovery, and I highly encourage anyone affected by the floods to take advantage of the help here locally.”
