One seriously injured in ATV crash

Millhousen, IN — One person was seriously injured when their ATV went off the road and struck a tree in the area of 650 South and 20 West near Millhousen on Wednesday.

The Marion Township Fire Department says the lone occupant of the vehicle was found 40-50 feet down an embankment, lying in a limestone creek bed.

Weather conditions prevented medical helicopters from flying to the scene.

The unidentified victim was taken by ambulance to an Indianapolis trauma center.

Firefighters remind you to wear a helmet while operating an off-road vehicle and, if possible, never ride alone.

Other responding agencies were the Greensburg Fire Department, the Letts Community Volunteer Fire Department, Decatur County EMS, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, the Westport Police Department, and Indiana Conservation Officers with assistance from Decatur County Communications.
