HARTSVILLE, Ind. — One person has been killed in a small plane crash in Bartholomew County.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department says Ren Sagaert, 77, of Shelby Township, Michigan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred in a wood line near Hartsville.
Crews responded to a 911 call on Wednesday regarding a plane crash around 1:00 PM.
Investigators believe the pilot was taking off at the time of the crash.
Sagaert was the only occupant of the plane.
