One More Day of Extreme Heat

(Southeastern IN) – Expect more of the same today, with hot conditions continuing.

The National Weather Service says the combination of heat and humidity will result in heat index values in the upper 90s to near 100 this afternoon and early evening.

Forecasters say if you’re going outside, drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and check in with relatives and neighbors; wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing, and take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

However, there is relief on the way over the Labor Day weekend: some much needed showers and storms are in the forecast for Saturday, with sunshine and a high temperature in the mid 80s on Sunday and a high in the mid 70s on Monday.
