One dead in fiery Franklin County crash

BROOKVILLE, Ind. – One person is dead after a crash in Franklin County early Friday.

Around 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to the accident on Oxford Pike near Hetrick Road where the crashed vehicle had caught fire.

Authorities say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was severely burned and not immediately identified. The remains were taken to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office in Ohio for autopsy and further investigation.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the College Corner Volunteer Fire Department, Drewersburg E.M.S. #1, and the Franklin County Coroner.

The crash remains under investigation.
